The door to the soul will open
When we allow our imagination to run wild
Meet the emotion
The IMAGINE method allows the therapist to enter the patient's emotional world, both overt and hidden, to navigate the emotional space within the therapeutic process, and to accurately pinpoint emotions from intuition and rapid recall to deep cognitive and emotional processing.
For the past 30 years, I've combined my great love for photography with the world of phototherapy, based on a simple understanding: pictures are 'emotion packages' waiting for someone to open them.
In the IMAGINE method I developed, we transform easily explained emotions into a visual, tangible, and exciting process.
As a photographer, I would go through thousands of photos almost every week, and there were some that really jumped out at me, not always for any specific reason. In my gut feeling, it was an amorphous, truly intuitive attraction. I began to explore why certain photos caught my eye. What made them special, appealing? When it clicked, the meeting between intuition and deep thought, my emotional pathways to the photo would open up and then I could really feel it, let it in, let it touch me, connect me to people, memories, smells, tastes and that moment... the circle was complete.
Over the years, I have come to understand the power of this process, which begins with a raw, undefined attraction and ends with a connection to memory, to our personal moment in time and the emotions it holds. The IMAGINE method combines the methods I developed in the world of professional photography with a therapeutic approach that uses images to facilitate an emotional and cognitive process in a space that brings together imagination, memory and the mind.
The method is based on a model I've called 'The 'triangle of movement'. This is a process that allows the patient to move freely between three layers of the mind: intuition, cognition, and emotion.
This is a journey of 'Focus': We start in a wide, large, and sometimes vague space, and with the help of the unique slides and cards, we narrow the focus. This movement, from the open space to precise focus, allows us to reach together the deepest point in the soul – the place where words are no longer needed, and change simply happens.
The IMAGINE method was born from the need to give therapists and professionals complete freedom of movement within the therapeutic space.
It breaks through the boundaries of familiar verbal therapy and allows for infinite points of encounter between the therapist and the patient.
The method and assessment are suitable for a wide range of professionals.
Inside a small bag made of pleasant-to-touch fabric, you will find three types of cards. Each type can stand alone or become part of a larger, more profound picture. The kit includes high-quality images, transparencies processed from photographs, and zoom-in cards. During treatment, we stack the different dimensions on top of each other while moving freely in each dimension on its own.
